The 2nd International Tadeusz Kotarbiński Philosophical Conference in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the University of Łódź, 22–23 October 2020
The conference Language, Ontology, Ethics, and Action aims at bringing together different kinds of research that cross-over the domains of philosophy of language, philosophy of action, ontology and ethics employing this cross-over perspective to establish new types of argumentation, formulate novel research questions or develop novel research methods. We welcome presentations that offer, for example:
- Relation between language and reality,
- Philosophy of action,
- Agency and responsibility,
- Logic and argumentation,
- Collective action and social life,
- Philosophy of religion,
The conference constitutes the second event organized by the Department of Philosophy at the University of Łódź named after the first Rector of the University of Łódź, the patron of the Department of Philosophy, and a distinguished member of the Lvov-Warsaw School of analytic philosophy, prof. Tadeusz Kotarbiński (1886-1981) whose philosophical impact and achievement span the areas represented in this conference.
As in the 1st International Tadeusz Kotarbiński Conference Philosophy as the Foundations of Knowledge, Action, Ethos, Łódź 11-13 June 2015, we also welcome papers that develop, analyze, and popularize the philosophical achievements of Tadeusz Kotarbiński (praxeology, reism, independent ethics), his works devoted to social life and literary heritage, and commemorate his distinguished moral attitude.
